The faceless meditative figure represents the stillness and good posture of meditation. For this sculpture, I use the victory brown wax sent from school. I used wooden skewers as the skeleton to my figure. I proceeded to create basic shapes to create a basic figure, oval for the head, circles for shoulders, triangle for pelvis area. To keep the wax malleable I use a pot with warm water and left my tea maker in 120F to keep the water warm. When starting to add wax and carve, I used the metal carving tools and the alcohol lamp. The beauty of love through angel wings. For this sculpture I used soapstone. To start I drew sketches of what I wanted to sculpt. I created the same size model of the future sculpture using clay. I drew in the soapstone and used a hacksaw to cut the sculpture into a basic shape. To carve the stone I used the Dremel tool, I used 2 different types of pieces, the diamond wand to carve the shape and the sand wand to smooth the sculpture.
